I just realised that we have a movie thread and a song one, but not a book one. Shocked So here it is... Let each other know if you're reading something really good!

I'm currently reading Salman Rushdie's 'Midnight Children' and I like it lots. Very Happy

I'm reading Set-Apart Femininity. I wish the chapters weren't soooo long.

I'm still yet to read that too and Authentic beauty i think it is... I did download Leslie's Set Apart Femininity podcasts and she read lots of excerpts from the book for them so I feel as though I'm quite familiar with the book.

I finished The Purpose Driven Life like 2 days ago

I've read AB and I started reading Set-Apart Femininity (I just had to recheck how I spelled that!) but I didn't finish it. I kind of have a short attention-span on certain books, which isn't the best habit. Like I started reading Do Hard Things a while ago and I never finished; it's been so long I'm going to have to just start it over.

I'm reading
The Witch of Blackbird Pond (It's really not about witches, just someone who is falsely accused of being a witch because she's Quaker. How stupid is that?)
A Tale of Two Cities (wow I wish I lived in Europe)
The Jungle (Freakishly scary book, by the way. Not in a horror movie kind of way, but an icky gross and sad way.
Through Gates of Splendor (I have to finish the last chapter. I would have it finished but there was a pretty sad day when a pet died and I really didn't want to read about anymore deaths.)

If only there were more hours in the day!

I am re-reading my Ted Dekker series. I just finished the first two of the Lost Book series. Now, I am reading Sinner. It's a GREAT series of books for those of you into suspense-ish type stuff. They are ten (I think) books that literally run side by side. They all tell different pieces of the same story but in a circle pattern (instead of a normal timeline) so you can literally start anywhere in the series and feel like you have started at the beginning. The first time through I read them: Red-Black-White-Lost Book- Sinner (I do not have Saint or Showdown). Now I have read the first two lost books and swung around to Sinner again. I have all kinds of admiration for Ted Dekker's imagination. It is unbelievable. Best part... he's a Christian. These books are of a story based on the redepmtion story and the battle between good and evil. SO COOL!!

hmmm sounds like good books, Jessica!

Right now I'm reading The King's Daughter by Sandra Worth. It's a historical novel about "The First Tudor Queen"...aka Elizabeth, King Edward's daughter and King Richard's niece. I think her husband was King Henry the VII, maybe? I don't know, but it's very good so far!

A Tale of Two Cities is a good book! It's a bit slow at first, but the last third is soooo exciting. Not sure how it makes you want to live in Europe though... Rolling Eyes
