Watching topics

Has anyone else noticed that the forum is automatically watching topics for you when you post in it, as opposed to needing to click the 'watch topic' button? I haven't had a chance to delve into the admin settings yet to investigate, but I wondered if I was alone in this! It started about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Yeah, mine started doing that, too. I had to go into my settings and un-check the auto-subscribe twice to fix it.

I noticed it, but I kind of like it because I sometimes forget to check for replies, and I know that if I post in a thread, I'll et notified. But I thought it always did that, not just for the last few weeks.

I noticed it too. I was just coming to post about it, actually. It's been doing it for several days now.

Ya it's weird!

I think I discovered the problem. I went into my settings today to change my avatar and signature. While there, I randomly clicked on preferences and discoverd that the box that says "Always notify me of replies: Sends an e-mail when someone replies to a topic you've posted in." was checked yes. I know that I didn't orginally have it checked because that e-mail thing only started a few weeks ago.

My best guess is that it was some glitch in the forum when an update was applied or maybe the admins accidentily did something. I don't know.

I'll know for sure when I post this whether it worked or not.

EDIT: Hey it worked! The little thing at the bottom of the page didn't say "Stop watching topic" but said "Click to watch topic". Yay! I'm guessing you guys can fix it with your settings by doing that in your preferences.
