| So, tomorrow is the Big Day. The due date. A 3% chance he'll actually come tomorrow, lol. And I have a couple of prayer requests... Yesterday, I had an appointment with the midwife, and booked in to be induced on the 18th Nov if he hasn't come by then. Long story short, it entails going in at about 3pm on the 17th to start it all, which means I'd be in hospital until I go home after having the baby. NOT ideal at all. I'm kinda freaked out about it all and am imagining the worst case scenario of it all (could be over 24hrs til labour even starts if everything goes wrong). I'm really worried how I'll handle the stress/frustration/waiting involved in being induced and how that'll then effect my ability to cope with labour, plus being in hospital longer than I need to... I don't like hospitals, no matter how nice and new the Birth and Assessment Suite is (all things antenatal/labour/etc). Ben's reassured/reminded me that I don't actually have to be induced, as no one can force me to do any medical procedure! And he's told me to not even think about it til the 16th In fact, I'd seriously prefer to skip the inducing and go straight to the C-section... and that's saying something. So, prayer request part A is that he comes before the 16th and I don't even have to think about being induced at all! Part B - the next week's weather forecast is to be yuckily hot, probably even a heatwave (5 days in a row over 35degC/95degF). So not ideal for a past-term pregnant woman! I've been very blessed with NOT being pregnant through summer here, but still. This is the last thing I need when I'm so over being pregnant already - over the pains, over the discomfort, want my bruised ribs to heal, over answering the same darn questions from EVERYBODY ( ), wanting to play with/use all the cute baby things... I'm just getting more impatient as the days wear on As I said to Ben - I've done the 40 weeks, now it's time to get him out! Actual prayer request - patience, peace, rest, Muffin comes ASAP this week! _________________ Happy mummy!

| Prayin!! Go swimming if you can... and walking too... not TOO much that you get exhausted and then go into labour exhausted...! And don't walk around in wet swimming shorts... chafing is something you don't need when in labour lol. Been there done that Jump on a trampoline.... KIDDING!! Just keep leaning forward, scrub the kitchen floor on your hands an knees Keep him the right way around! And yeah maybe stop thinking that you're past due date. When you want him out, he'll take his time. Pretend you wanna be pregnant for the next 3 months (gollllly) and he may come sooner Maybe its all in the mind but still, if it helps it helps! _________________

| Aww, I'll be praying. You definitely have my sympathy being pregnant in such heat; I can imagine it won't be fun at all. Don't panic about being in hospital - think of it this way, you get to have all the pampering and attention without actually being ill. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it, because I've been in so many times and felt too rotten to enjoy all the visits and kindness from everyone...yeah, I'm weird! Oh, and I've heard spicy food and sex are good for bringing about labour (not at the same time...), though of course I have yet to try that myself. |

| hehe, your last sentence made me laugh ER. Like Ben says, though, you don't have to be induced. If you want to because you're tired of being pregnant, that's up to you, but you don't have to be induced just 'cause it's 11 days past the due date, if you get there...and...it's still a long time till then anyway! I'll be praying for ya...I know the heat can be bad. My mom never handled heat well when she was pregnant. _________________ ...they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Acts 17:11

| Aww... I know how you feel! Hang in there and little Muffin'll be out when he is ready! Like Hy said, convince yourself that you have a long way to go yet... and keep busy with fun stuff so you don't have to think about it! I'm praying for you and thinking of you! I hope he comes sooner so you don't have to do an induction. _________________ ~Stay at home wife to Timothy ~10/07~ and Mommy to Tirzah ~12/31/08~

| Yeah, babies come when they're ready. My mom had seven and was only induced on the last one, and that was just because every time she had a contraction, the baby's heart would stop. (She was two weeks early) My older sister was born 3 days late, but she came by herself, and two other siblings were born right on their due dates. |

| Thanks so much guys Still nothing to report. Ben finally gave me a good enough argument to rest this week, especially in this heat - I need to be well-rested for labour, and who knows when it'll start?! In fact, the only "house" thing I'm allowed to do today is get a bed sheet off the line. No dishes, no nothing. It's hard, coz I feel lazy and useless, but I'm trying to stay positive and cool!! *groans* Even the nights are hot... 25degC! Which is lovely during the day, but not at night. _________________ Happy mummy!

| I wouldn't recommend to be induced! (not from experience thou ) Your body knows what it is doing and knows when the right time is to go into labour. Even though the medical staff are only giving you a synthetic form of oxytocin, your body knows better than medical staff. On another note, my mother was 4 weeks over with my younger sister! Don't mean to scare you |
