I used to think that way too until I watched my Mom plan my sister's wedding. The older you get, the more realistic you get. Yes, it's a celebration but the Bridegroom will show up no matter where you get married as long as your heart is in the right place. To me, a wedding is a ton of stress and planning I'd just rather not do anymore. It's a lot of money to use for one day when those funds could be used to pay for rent or bills or whatever. I used to want a huge wedding but I'd much rather elope and hold a small reception for my family and friends afterward.
I'm confident that no matter when or where I get married, I'll make it special with my groom and the Bridegroom will be present, that I have no doubt.
