Well, as some guessed, the secret was that I was no longer on the Pill, as of January 1.
And now?? Yes, Ben and I are expecting a little one November 6th, 2009

We went away over the weekend to Melbourne to celebrate Ben's final draft of his thesis/finishing up, and all week I was awaiting the monthly. Monday arrived, still nothing, but had been having cramps all weekend. Took a home test, and hey presto! Two little pink lines
So I am 6 weeks pregnant, and it's starting to sink in, especially as I've been having "abdominal achiness" - basically, my uterus is growing, so I'm getting growth pains! Sudden laughter and movement or just randomness can bring them on. I also have started peeing more than I used too, due to the growing uterus starting to push down!
Our families are ecstatic. Much to my grandmother's delight :!: (typical of that side of the family... many were concerned that getting married meant me not finishing!), I'm still planning on finishing my studies, although my 8-week teaching prac mid-July to mid-Sept. may need a slight adjustment to include classes/appointments, we'll see. Ben's mum has already started buying things, including a newborn white beanie, because white will go with blue or pink
We're only telling a few people to start off with, close family and friends, and slowly working our way out the circles

It's been hard to not say anything when the opportunity arrives, coz I don't want to lie! So I just skirt the issue... Like I have been for 2 months on here

People have been so happy, but surprised at how soon it's happened! But we always wanted kids early, and we figured that the timeline we took would give me the chance to finish studies and get them out of the way. Besides, if Heidi can handwash, clean, redecorate and garden whilst pregnant, I can teach 9 year olds for 8 weeks!

Hmm, what else... we'll be finding out what it is, and we'll reveal it, but we won't be revealing names

At the moment, baby's been called muffin, sweet pea, peanut... apparently over the next two weeks it'll grow from a sweet pea to a blueberry to a raspberry... weekly name changes!

I think that's about it... Except for a huge hurrah!!

And congratulations to all you cheeky little things who guessed correctly

Happy mummy!
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.
