So I was trying to show this friend of my friend what a real gentleman was like because we'd been talking for a while. I flew her down to the Marine Corps ball and while I was babysitting my drunk friends she um "hooked up with" one of my friends. I sort of liked her and I'm pretty concerned because I don't feel anything toward the situation because this is the second time this has happened to me. Please pray I find some guidance on the situation. I feel really bad she was a new Christian ...

Born at 4.19pm on November 18th, Jonathan weighed in at 10lb 9oz (4.8kg), measured 54cm+ (he was longer than the measure on the scales!) with a head circumference of 36.5cm.

We went in to hospital at 3pm on Tuesday the 17th, and had a dose of gels put in at 7pm to soften my cervix. I was having mild contractions all night (I just thought they were my back aching!) and they broke my waters at about 8am Wednesday morning. They also took about 5 goes to get a drip in my arm... If not, then I will write the name of two bands/singers, the person after me will choose which band they think is better, then choose another band/singer for that one to compete with and so on.

For example:

Superchick v Switchfoot

If the person after me likes Superchick best then they might write...

Superchick v Miley Cyrus

Then the person after them chooses...

Ok, first bands are...

When I was two, my parents left the church we had been going to. There were some things my parents didn't agree with that the church was doing. My parents left and never returned. There were a few other families who also didn't agree so we formed our own church. For four or five years, we met in homes with a couple of the men preaching on Sundays. Then, we got too large to meet in homes so we started using a public building. For ...

Yesterday, I had an appointment with the midwife, and booked in to be induced on the 18th Nov if he hasn't come by then. Long story short, it entails going in at about 3pm on the 17th to start it all, which means I'd be in hospital until I go home after having the baby. NOT ideal at all. I knew this verse from a song I sung in Children's Church growing up, and it's never left me. The obvious question to ask from this verse is "when do we rejoice?"

The answer is just as obvious - "always". Even when we are unemployed, in the midst of a move, struggling with relationship issues, facing exams, or are just finding it tough, we are to rejoice. If life is going swimmingly, ...

We celebrate Thanksgiving here cos we like to reflect on the year and thank God for all the blessings we're showered with!

We usually have a feast - pretty much just like you guys. So what I need from you Americans is ideas! What to cook (I do turkey but its expensive and a couple chickens go further!) - from main dishes, to sides, salads, vegetables, etc... to desserts. I make a finger-lickin' good punkin' pie and hoping to try my hand at popcorn balls this year.

Aaaaand... decorations. ...

Sorry, it's me again - another exam request. I am sorry to be so selfish - but this exam (one component tomorrow, the other half of the component next Tuesday) is one that I'm making up from last year. This equals double pressure.

It's anatomy lab tomorrow, and I spent so long practicing in the lab yesterday and today. If you could please pray that I'll remember the names of things that I know I've learnt when the pressure comes that would be great. Also that the maths/physicsy questions ...

My exams are next week... 3 are worth 60% of my grade, one is worth 50%... and the thing is, I'm not ready for them! I'm having so much trouble trying to study for them, I've had a majorly short attention span all week, and have felt ridiculously tired since Tuesday (even tho I'm getting more sleep than normal!)

Could you please pray that I am able to successfully study, and make the most of my time? Pray for motivation to study, and for good recall when I get into the exams. Thanks!

I am curious about some things. No, I'm curious about a LOT of things but I'll just stick to this one. I have heard several people talk about five point Calvinism and three point Calvinism and I am just wondering how someone can take the five points (TULIP) and decide to pick out a couple because they don't like them. Ok, that's clear enough.

Leviticus 19:19 "Obey my laws. You must not mate two different kinds of cattle or sow you field with two different kinds of seed. You must not wear clothing made from two different kinds of material mixed together."

I guess I'm confused as to why we choose to follow some of the OT laws, and not others.

Psalm 136 basically gives the history of Israel (until the point it was written), and after every line, the Psalmist recognises God's love. So let's add our own praise to the end of the Psalm:

Quote:

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.

       His love endures forever.

2 Give thanks to the God of gods.

       His love endures forever.

3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:

My dearest friend passed away sometime this weekend, but I only found out tonight. So there's no confusion, she is my pet cat, but I considered her as one of the family and a really good friend. I guess I would like some prayer of comfort or something, as she's not here to give me that anymore.

I feel weird caring so much because she's just a cat. But really, she's more than that, she has been a good friend in times when I didn't have any and she's been with me for nearly 9 years.

I cry in pretty much anything haha.

The first movie that ever made me cry was The Fox and The Hound.

Movies that get me every time are I am Sam and My Sister's Keeper.

I love movies that make me cry coz that means they've made me feel something and when a movie has made me feel something, then it's done it's job.

Simon Birch, The Green Mile, The Mighty, Million Dollar Baby and Changeling also made me cry.

What movies make you cry? Or make you feel some sort of strong emotion?

I was wondering if anyone new of any good, understandable (As in, I won't need three or four dictionaries to know what is being said.) books that covered these topics? I don't need one book that covers them all, but just if you've read any that provide a good history and overview of anything relating to Calvinism, Arminianism, and Wesleyanism.

Thanks.
