I felt this should be a separate thread from the smile thread. That way people can know they can come here for a good laugh.

That and I didn't really want to post the following in the Smile thread.

Maggie's youth pastor and his wife accusing Maggie of being interested in me.

Some people appear to be trying to make a match for the "matchmaker."

Just a quick question... what do people think of yoga as a way of relaxation/exercise? Is it possible to do it without the spiritual connections that a lot teach it with? Any further thoughts?

So, tomorrow is the Big Day. The due date. A 3% chance he'll actually come tomorrow, lol. And I have a couple of prayer requests...

Yesterday, I had an appointment with the midwife, and booked in to be induced on the 18th Nov if he hasn't come by then. Long story short, it entails going in at about 3pm on the 17th to start it all, which means I'd be in hospital until I go home after having the baby. NOT ideal at all. I'm kinda freaked out about it all and am imagining the worst case scenario ...

Leviticus 18:22 "You must not have sexual relations with a man as you would a woman. That is a hateful sin."

Ok, that's clear enough.

Leviticus 19:19 "Obey my laws. You must not mate two different kinds of cattle or sow you field with two different kinds of seed. You must not wear clothing made from two different kinds of material mixed together."

I guess I'm confused as to why we choose to follow some of the OT laws, and not others.

Why is homosexuality ...

We got home from my parents last night, took the baby up to bed (he was asleep) then he started crying inconsolably so we were trying to calm him down. Will had just unloaded the car but I was still going to get something - he didn't know that though so locked the back door and turned off the lights and came upstairs. He was holding Archie, I was brushing my teeth. Then I went down to get my iPod... and the car DOOR is OPEN. I hear footsteps running off down the drive, called Will down... they ...

It's super fun. I went to the store today and bought toothpaste and toothbrush, a comb, pony-tail holders, and some gum and tic-tacs. I was going to get a couple of small toys but I was at the store (Safeway) and they had less than a quarter of one side of an aisle with toys!!!
I keep making plans for the next year or so, and then having them change. There are some exciting possible opportunities before me...and some doors I'd hoped would open that haven't. One thing that just came up today was a professor asking me to work with him for the rest of the school year as, essentially, a research assistant, to help him research and write an article...which we would potentially get grant money for and publish jointly at the end of the school year.
"Rejoice in the LORD always. I will say it again: rejoice!" - Philippians 4:4

I knew this verse from a song I sung in Children's Church growing up, and it's never left me. The obvious question to ask from this verse is "when do we rejoice?"

The answer is just as obvious - "always". Even when we are unemployed, in the midst of a move, struggling with relationship issues, facing exams, or are just finding it tough, we are to rejoice. If life is going swimmingly, ...

My exams are next week... 3 are worth 60% of my grade, one is worth 50%... and the thing is, I'm not ready for them! I'm having so much trouble trying to study for them, I've had a majorly short attention span all week, and have felt ridiculously tired since Tuesday (even tho I'm getting more sleep than normal!)

Could you please pray that I am able to successfully study, and make the most of my time? Pray for motivation to study, and for good recall when I get into the exams. Thanks!

This has piqued my interest, so... And I have a few questions. If you want to start with one and move down, or focus on one in particular...whatever.

1. Is baptism neccessary to get to heaven?

2. Is baptism neccessary as a part of the Christian walk? (As in, you don't have to, but it's really important to?)

3. Is infant baptism wrong?

I don't believe it is baptism is neccessary to get to heaven. Baptism in water doesn't cleanse the soul, Jesus' sacrifice does.

God has been speaking to me lately about my mediocre Christianity. To many a Grunt that can be a practicing Christian is a miracle in itself, it is only by Gods love that he has kept me through this. But I am not where I should be. I have seen to much understood too much to not be able to continually hunger and thirst for my God. Self occupies way to much of my focus.
I know how you were dying to read it!

Have you ever read, (and I know you have) some story that tells of a teen who made history? Some teen who saved lives; finished high school by age 12; became a missionary to Ethiopia; or became a leader of the teen world? I have, and truly admire those people, but it can also be kind of depressing. What hard thing have I done? we might ask, or, Why can't I do these types of things?

Well, folks, I am here to tell you small things can be just ...

Hey, who has some good brain teasers/riddles/etc? Here's one we used in Critical Thinking lab today. See if you can figure it out:

Singles' Bar

A woman goes into a club where all married men lie and all single men tell the truth. She is approached by 3 men. She asks the first man, "Are you married?" But the music is so loud, she cannot hear his answer. So the second guy leans over and says to her, "The first guy said he is married. But really, he is single." ...

My English professor sent me this.

Curious Rules for Writers

1.	Verbs has to agree with their subjects.

2.	Prepositions are not words to end sentences with.

3.	And don't start a sentence with a conjunction.

4.	It is wrong to ever split an infinitive.

5.	Avoid clichés like the plague. (They're old hat.)

6.	Also, always avoid annoying alliteration.

7.	Be more or less specific.

8.	Parenthetical remarks (however relevant) are (usually) unnecessary.

Quote:

1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.

So I'm single and will be for at least another year and three quarters (until I leave for college. There aren't any guys in the town I live in for me). I guess I rock at being single. How do you rock at being single????
