I'm learning that having some troubles/temptations is not soo bad and it helps me to grow and become more like Jesus

I'mlearning that as well as cultivating mental and physical toughness I need to work on my spiritual toughness...

I'm learning that I worry too much and that it doesn't help anything. The passage I'm trying to take to heart is Matthew 6:25-34

I'm learning that "if any of [us] lacks wisdom, [we] should ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach..." (James 1:5) In general, I am learning many lessons about wisdom. What is God's wisdom like? Why should we ask for it? How should we ask for it (without doubting; James 1:6)? How should we use it? It seems 'most every time I sit down with my Bible or pull up a page on BibleGateway.com , I end up reading something about wisdom.

I'm learning that your true persona comes out under pressure..and while I'm generally a happy person..I don't like who I'm seeing underneath all the pressure....God must not like it either because every time I think I've had enough, something else happens and it gets worse!

But that's how gold is formed, right? Ugh.

I keep learning (over and over) about leaving things in God's hands.

I'm learning that God has funny timing... I thought it was always "late" according to me... well, yesterday He did something much faster than I thought He would, and the timing of an email I got today... well... God has a sense of humor

He's always on time but rarely early? Something like that..read it in one of the Christy Miller books I think.

Lately it's just letting Him be my comfort and my provider (again-hours are threatening to get cut)..and how..oh man, I left the room for a sec and lost my train of thought..darn.

im being reminded that God always always hears when you talk to Him, and that He fixes the problem

I love the notes in my Bible.

I was reading Psalm 114 last night which is about Israel's departure from Egypt and journey through the desert.

7Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord,
at the presence of the God of Jacob.

Seemingly an innocent verse on first glance. The note in the context of the Psalm amused me because it's something I hadn't really thought of in quite the way this verse and its note suggested.

Purpose 114:7 Creation obeys God. Isn't it amazing how all of creation obeys God? We have some wonderful examples in Scripture. The Red Sea and the Jordan River parted at His command (114:3). The weather is at Jesus' comman (Luke 8:22-25). The only part of creation that doesn't obey God without question is mankind. We are rebellious and hard-hearted, bent on rebellion. Reading the note within the context of the Psalm amused and saddened me at the same time that God's best creation is also His most stubborn creation.

Trust..it's the hardest thing with me! I am a do-er, I go, do, fix..but I can't do that and serve Him. He has GOT to be in control!

I'm learning the same thing that Sarah was learning when she posted. Trust...to trust God even in the things that I'd really like to have a say in. God's been working on this lesson for a long time, and I think it's finally actually sticking a bit. I'm able to rest peacefully, knowing that He is in control, when there is little reason for peace other than trust.

It's a continual lesson on my end...like, yesterday I was SO nervous but instead of saying that (we've been learning that our words really do affect the outcome of situations in life) I just kept leaving the situation in God's hands knowing He had it under control..and really, what's the worst that could happen?
