| I want to hear everyone's opinion on women in the military. What do you think? Is it a good idea? A bad idea? Women should only be in non-combat positions? They can be in combat positions? I just want to hear your opinion. _________________ Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new - Albert Einstein |

| Well, I don't have a problem with it in principle. However, in practice, I'm not convinced that it's a good idea in combat situations. Yes, I'm a woman, but I honestly don't feel that women are able to cope in combat as well as men - it's just how we're designed. God made men and women different, and there's nothing wrong with admitting that men are more suited to combat. Also, I haven't thought about this a huge amount, but I'm not sure it's a good idea having mixed sex combat anyway, as men then have greater temptation to either be distracted or to protect the women...it's a natural reaction and could affect the outcome of operations. |

| I think women should be able to take any role in the military they want. I'm not quite sure why that's not the case yet. |

Men are better suited to it, and as Father Christmas says in "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe", "War is ugly when women fight." The men want to protect the women, as they ought to...but that's not what they're supposed to be doing out there. And...honestly...men are better suited to combat, emotionally and physically.
Funny story, though, on this topic...
A friend of mine who does re-enactment was at this one re-enactment where a group of ladies was re-enacting as this all-female company...and all day long they loaded and fired their cannon as well as the guys were doing...and the guys were feeling kinda bad ...and kept trying to outdo the women, but failing...
Until the end of the day. When they started loading everything up, the women got their cannon all chained up and tried to load it onto the wagon, but even with their united efforts, they couldn't begin to wind the winch. So, after trying for awhile, they gave in and asked the men's company to help them. One guy walked over and single-handedly got the cannon onto the wagon.

| Yeah, same. On principle, I don't have a problem with it, but I just don't think women are as well-suited to war like men. We're too emotional and caring and compassionate, we won't as easily shoot at people! _________________ Happy mummy!

| I guess I have a problem with women in the military, I don't think that is involved in a womens role. Nurseing, OK. And if it was a emergency. BUt I don't like the idea of women fighting. _________________ I am a farmgirl with a mission... to get my chores done before it's dark... ahem! | Non-Combat roles only. Which should not include any attatchment to ground-combat elements. They're also terrable pilots from my experience, two women pilots have almost crashed birds on our plt. no male pilots. They are too emotional to be leaders in a combat unit as well. Our Base SgtMaj. is a woman and she does her job well despite being very short. |

| I think it depends on the woman. Some men are emotional, and not all men are suited for war. Maybe some women aren't suitable, but that doesn't mean all. |

| I personally think that God created men to be in the leader/protector role. Military is very much a leader/protector role, so it doesn't seem to fit women. There may be women who would be good soldiers, but I don't think it's where God intended them to be. Women were created to be the help-meet for man, not to take his role. |

| I agree with the general oppinion. I don't have a problem with women in the military but I don't think women in combat is a good idea. _________________ “The contentment of a Christian Hedonist is not a Buddha-like serenity, unmoved by the hurts of others. When God was creating the world, there was no sin, so no need for protection, so what makes you think God created them to protect us?

I don't think God intended for there to be war at all when he created the world.
So I guess I disagree. |

When God was creating the world, there was no sin, so no need for protection, so what makes you think God created them to protect us? | The leader role can still be true...and guys in love protect women from the most ridiculous things. Maybe in the garden it was something like this:
Adam: "Oh Eve honey dear, let's go for a walk." *Adam purposefully leads Eve to the nearest stream where starts to wade through* Adam: "Eve pudding pie! The water might rush, and you might be swept off your feet...and I intend to be the only thing in Creation to sweep you off your feet. So here, let me protect you from the water and carry you across the creek."
No matter that the water here was just 2 inches deep; Adam wanted to protect his girl. Now seriously, I think it's awfully sweet when guys are protective of girls...but I seriously know a young couple that he had to "protect" her from the inch of water that they walked through...gives us girls something to grin about. lol.
But I digress...protection can happen even before evil. Even without protection, the leader part of that role could still exist. _________________ ...they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Acts 17:11

| Lol that might have happened. Or maybe Cain was a protective or possessive husband and his children learnt from him and it's the way society progressed? Maybe God didn't plan those roles at all and they just happened. |
